Peanut Butter Blossom

Ingredients
  

  • 48 Hersey's Kiss Chocolates
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Heat oven to 350°F
  2. Remove wrappers from chocolates.
  3. In large bowl, beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended
  4. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, beat until fluffy.
  5. Beat in egg, vanilla and milk. 
  6. In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually blend into mixture. 
  7. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.  Roll in additional granulated sugar.  
  8. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. 
  9. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned
  10. Remove from oven.
  11. Immediately press KISSES  in centre of each cookie.
  12. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
